KARACHI – An armed dacoit stormed into a barber shop in Baldia Town, holding customers at gunpoint and stealing their valuables, police reported on Thursday.

CCTV footage of the incident, which quickly went viral on social media, shows a lone robber entering the shop while brandishing a pistol. Customers and barbers immediately complied, sitting down in fear as the man ordered them to hand over their belongings.

The robber reportedly searched each person individually, taking mobile phones and cash before fleeing the scene. Authorities suspect he had an accomplice waiting outside on a motorcycle.

Karachi police have launched an investigation to identify and apprehend the suspects. Law enforcement officials are reviewing CCTV footage and gathering evidence from the scene.

In a separate incident on November 26, police arrested a driver accused of attempting to extort Rs8 million from his employer in the Malir Cantt area, ARY News reported. The suspect, identified as Dawood Khan, allegedly sent threatening phone calls and a written note, warning that he would kill his employer if the money was not paid.

Authorities used technological tools to track and arrest Khan, who confessed during interrogation. Police said the arrest highlights ongoing efforts to combat extortion and ensure public safety. Further investigation is underway to determine whether he had accomplices.
