Published on: November 24, 2025 5:25 PM

A car collided with pedestrians in Tokyo on Monday, injuring 11 people, including two in critical condition, according to Japanese broadcaster NTV and authorities on the scene.

Aerial footage from NTV showed that several vehicles were involved in the incident, highlighting the chaotic aftermath and the severity of the collision in the busy urban area.

The Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department confirmed that the driver of a white sedan, seen abandoned at the scene, fled immediately after the crash, prompting an urgent search for the suspect.

Authorities are treating the case as a hit-and-run and have launched an investigation to locate the driver while examining traffic camera footage and eyewitness accounts for further leads.

Emergency responders quickly transported the injured to nearby hospitals, where medical staff are providing treatment, and officials urged anyone with information about the fleeing driver to come forward.

Police continue to secure the accident site and implement measures to prevent similar incidents, while local authorities have called for increased pedestrian safety in the area.
