AFGHANISTAN UNREST Renewed Resistance Against Afghan Taliban

Published on: November 14, 2025 3:14 AM

Signs of armed uprising against Taliban are getting stronger with rising frequency of attacks from opponent groups.

Current resistance is outcome of the Taliban’s flawed autocratic governance and non-flexible approach towards universally agreed fundamental human rights. Taliban regime faces mounting resistance as internal rifts and insurgent attacks erode its control across Afghanistan. The National Resistance Front (NRF) has intensified operations, targeting Taliban positions in multiple provinces.

On 10 November 2025, NRF forces attacked a Taliban checkpoint near Herat, killing two militants and seizing weapons. Sources have further revealed that same night the NRF fighters attacked Taliban militias in the Zinjir-e Charhab area as well, killing two and wounding another. Reports indicate that veteran commander Ismail Khan, the “Lion of Herat,” has joined the struggle against the Taliban rule with a renewed momentum.

As per NRF claims , the Afghans are fed up with Taliban rule and vows to continue targeted operations to free the country from illegitimate domination. Local sources opine that internal discords, related to Taliban’s close attachment with terrorists groups like TTP , BLA and Al-Qaida, have exposed the weaknesses of Taliban regime which already lacks legitimacy being unelected. NRF seems poised to gain maximum advantage of Taliban’s unwise strategy of preferring confrontation with Pakistan over peaceful tackling.
