The Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) has issued a detailed traffic advisory ahead of the ongoing One-Day and Tri-Nation Cricket Series at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. Over 300 officers have been deployed to manage traffic and ensure smooth movement for both cricket teams and the public.
Special arrangements have been made to facilitate team transport from Islamabad to the stadium while minimizing disruption for commuters. The ITP has also designated alternative routes in case of temporary road closures. Motorists on Faisal Avenue may use Srinagar Highway, Club Road via Faizabad, or Park Road via Lehtrar Road. Those on 9th Avenue can opt for Sabzi Mandi Mor–Police Lines Chowk via Srinagar Highway or Golra Mor–Peshawar Mor–Srinagar Highway.
For residents traveling from Margalla Road towards Khanna, the suggested alternative route is Blue Area–Club Road–Lehtrar Road. Officers have also been positioned along service roads to guide motorists and maintain traffic discipline, especially during peak hours when movement of cricket teams may slow down traffic on the Expressway and Srinagar Highway.
Motorists have been advised to plan their journeys with extra time and exercise patience during team movements. Traffic updates and advisories are being regularly shared via Islamabad Police’s official social media platforms and FM Radio 92.4. For emergencies, citizens can contact Pucar-15 or the Traffic Helpline at 1915.
