
Pakistan’s Foreign Office has confirmed that ongoing talks with the Afghan Taliban in Istanbul are progressing positively, urging the public and media to ignore speculative statements circulating online. Foreign Office Spokesperson Tahir Hussain Andarabi emphasized during a press briefing that Pakistan’s stance remains firm—Afghan soil must never be used for terrorism against any country. He stated that Islamabad has presented evidence-based demands, which are being discussed point by point with Taliban representatives in the presence of mediators.
The spokesperson highlighted that mediators have fully endorsed Pakistan’s position, describing the dialogue as constructive and result-oriented. He dismissed unverified claims spreading across social media, reaffirming that official updates would be shared only through authorized channels. Andarabi noted that Islamabad seeks lasting regional peace through mutual understanding and respect for sovereignty, stressing that Pakistan continues to engage diplomatically to ensure regional stability and counter cross-border threats.

Expanding on Pakistan’s foreign policy priorities, Andarabi reiterated that Islamabad will not tolerate any violations of the Indus Waters Treaty, underscoring that water security is a matter of national survival. He also strongly condemned Israel’s breaches of the Gaza ceasefire and reaffirmed Pakistan’s support for the Gaza Peace Initiative aimed at achieving long-term stability in the Middle East. These statements underline Pakistan’s continued commitment to both regional peace and international humanitarian principles.

On the Kashmir issue, the spokesperson reiterated that the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir continue to suffer under Indian state-sponsored oppression. He noted that President Asif Ali Zardari reaffirmed Pakistan’s position during his address at the Doha Conference, where he also met several global leaders. The Foreign Office stressed that Pakistan remains committed to highlighting Kashmir’s plight on every international platform until a just and peaceful resolution is achieved.
Meanwhile, Andarabi shared updates on high-level diplomatic visits aimed at strengthening Pakistan’s regional ties. He confirmed that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is in Azerbaijan to attend the fifth anniversary of its Victory Day celebrations, while Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar recently visited Istanbul to discuss bilateral and regional matters amid the ongoing Pakistan–Afghan Taliban talks. The Foreign Office maintained that Pakistan will continue its diplomatic efforts to promote stability, security, and cooperation across the broader region.
