Azma warns of defamation suit against propagandists using CM, Hamza names

Published on: November 5, 2025 1:24 AM

Punjab Minister for Information and Culture, Azma Bokhari, has said that Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz is the most dynamic and result-oriented leader in Punjab’s history – having initiated and completed the highest number of development projects in record time.

She stated that all projects of the Punjab Government are models of transparency, merit, and public service, leaving no room for corruption. In contrast, previous governments made empty promises – PTI’s claims of five million houses and ten million jobs never materialized.

Azma Bokhari added that the Punjab Government has distributed Rs. 10 billion among flood victims and Rs. 100 billion among over one million farmers through the Kissan Card program. She announced that details of 16 flagship welfare and development initiatives under the leadership of Maryam Nawaz will be shared with the public to ensure awareness of how their tax money is being utilized.

The Minister said corruption culture has been eradicated from Punjab – no office or officer rate exists anymore, and bureaucracy’s performance is now monitored through Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to ensure efficient public service delivery.

Speaking at a press conference at Alhamra Hall, Azma Bokhari highlighted the ongoing ‘Suthra Punjab’ Program, employing 140,000 workers and 2,000 officers. Over 9.4 million tons of waste have been properly disposed of – marking the largest cleanliness drive in Punjab’s history.

She announced that Phase-II of the Electric Bus Project is underway adding 1,100 electric buses to be operational across 42 cities by December.

Calling the ‘Apni Chhat, Apna Ghar’ initiative Maryam Nawaz’s pride project, Azma Bokhari shared that 104,800 families have already received housing loans, 30,000 houses are complete, and 90% of ongoing construction is in final stages.

She also highlighted several welfare measures – including free home delivery of cancer and cardiac medicines, 7,000 successful child heart surgeries under the Children Heart Program, and near completion of the Sargodha Cardiology Hospital.

Azma Bokhari emphasized that treatment in public hospitals is now completely free, and the Cancer Hospital will be fully operational next month with emergency services.

Under the Interest-Free E-Bikes Scheme, 27,000 students including 8,200 girls have received motorbikes, while a special e-bike scheme for orphan students has been launched by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz.

Azma Bokhari remarked that If only there were glasses that could help KP rulers see their broken roads, failed governance, and the miserable condition of their people – the Punjab government would gladly help them get a pair.”

Responding to a question, Azma Bokhari warned that those spreading false propaganda by using the names of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif and Hamza Shehbaz, should get ready the matter is being taken to the defamation court.
