The historic Shalimar Gardens came alive with beats, melodies and laughter as the Walled City of Lahore Authority (WCLA) successfully organised a Mega Drum Circle and Open Mic Night under its flagship event “Shalimar Sounds.” The event celebrated Lahore’s vibrant cultural spirit, drawing an enthusiastic crowd of families, youth and music lovers, said a press release issued here on Saturday. The Mega Drum Circle, featuring more than 150 drums, created an electrifying atmosphere that resonated through the Mughal-era gardens. The audience was further captivated by live musical performances and a soulful tribute to the legendary Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, which received thunderous applause. Hundreds of participants enjoyed the rhythmic experience and open mic sessions, transforming Shalimar Gardens into a lively festival of culture and community. WCLA Director General Najmus Saqib said, “The success of this Mega Drum Circle shows Lahore’s deep connection with its cultural rhythm. Shalimar Gardens has once again proven to be a space where art, music, and heritage come together. WCLA will continue to organize such vibrant experiences for the public.”
