Sindh Education Minister Syed Sardar Ali Shah held a meeting with a delegation from Oxford University Press. The delegation was led by Dr. Penelope Woolf from Oxford University, UK, while members included Education Lead at the British High Commission, Ghufran Naqvi, Managing Director of Oxford University Press Pakistan, Arshad Saeed Hussain, and other representatives. Secretary School Education Zahid Ali Abbasi, Chief Curriculum Advisor Dr. Fauzia Khan, and other officials were also present on the occasion.
The meeting featured detailed discussions on education, capacity building, leadership development, and improving teaching standards. Provincial Minister Syed Sardar Ali Shah appreciated Oxford University Press’s contributions to knowledge and research, stating that there are opportunities for mutual exchange of experiences in text development. He added that collaboration can be undertaken with Oxford University Press in developing books focused on child learning. He further said that despite numerous challenges, the provincial education department continues to take steps toward promoting quality education. The Oxford University Press delegation expressed keen interest in teacher training programs and discussed modern teaching methodologies for effective child learning. It was mutually agreed to adopt digital training models to enhance teacher capacity and improve learning outcomes.
Sindh Education Minister Syed Sardar Ali Shah termed Oxford University Press’s cooperation in promoting quality education as a positive step, stating that this partnership will further strengthen Sindh’s education system.
