His net worth later dipped to $499.1 billion, according to Forbes’ “Real-Time Billionaires” tracker. Musk remains the richest person on the planet.
Oracle CEO Larry Ellison is second at $350.7 billion, followed by Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg at $245.8 billion, Forbes reported.
Musk earned his first millions after selling an online publishing software company to Compaq for over $300 million in 1999. Later, his company merged with PayPal, boosting his wealth further.
