Azad Jammu and Kashmir Inspector General of Police Liaquat Ali Malik has ruled out any negotiations with violent anti-state elements, stating that law enforcement agencies are responsible for enforcing the law rather than pursuing political dialogue. He said political issues should be resolved through the country’s political leadership, while the police will continue performing their constitutional and legal responsibilities.

Speaking about the security situation, Malik stressed that political solutions must come through elected leaders instead of law enforcement institutions. He maintained that the police are tasked with protecting citizens, maintaining public order and taking legal action against those involved in criminal or violent activities.
The police chief strongly condemned attacks on security personnel and said there could be no compromise with individuals accused of killing police officers or desecrating the bodies of martyrs. He added that such actions crossed all legal and moral boundaries and would be dealt with strictly under the law.

Malik also alleged that armed groups had threatened to target security personnel and civilians. Referring to a recent incident, he claimed that a citizen travelling to attend his mother’s funeral was abducted and had his legs broken, describing the act as a serious crime against an innocent civilian.
Reaffirming the state’s commitment to maintaining law and order, Malik said authorities would continue taking firm action against anyone involved in violence against civilians or security personnel. He added that the full force of the law would be used to protect public safety and ensure accountability for those responsible for such acts.
