The Lahore Arts Council hosted an enlightening session under the theme “Literature and Life” as part of its ongoing series Alhamra Adbi Baithak.
The gathering added yet another meaningful chapter to Alhamra’s intellectual and literary pursuits, where distinguished poet and writer Sofia Baidar shared her profound reflections.
Speaking at the session, Baidar emphasized that literature is both the mirror and the path of life. “A true writer’s pen is not merely for writing; it pulses with the heartbeat of society. Literature illuminates the human spirit, raises critical questions and safeguards cultural values amidst the trials of life,” she remarked. Chairman Alhamra, Razi Ahmed, highlighted the timeless bond between literature and life, stating: “The connection between the two is as old as humanity itself. Literature not only testifies to the passage of time but also interprets life in all its dimensions. Through such intellectual gatherings, Alhamra continues its mission of nurturing awareness among the younger generation.”
Executive Director Alhamra, Mahboob Alam, underscored the Council’s commitment to promoting the tradition of understanding and enriching life through literature. “We are bringing forward themes that inspire social understanding and collective consciousness. The dialogue between literature and life is vital for awakening society,” he said.
The session drew a large audience, including writers, researchers, teachers, students, and lovers of literature, who praised both the choice of topic and the depth of discourse.
According to the Alhamra spokesperson, this initiative stands as proof that Alhamra is not only a vibrant hub for the fine arts but also a thought leader in the realms of literature and philosophy. Such consistent engagements breathe new life into society’s intellectual awareness, cultural identity and human values.
