The true face of the Awami Action Committee (AAC) leadership, Shaukat Ali Kashmiri and Nazir Azeer Khan, has been unmasked, revealing their dangerous alignment with foreign interests, particularly India, rather than the people of Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJK) or Pakistan. Their continuous efforts to destabilize the region expose their commitment not to local grievances, but to serving external powers with an agenda aimed at fomenting chaos and undermining Pakistan’s sovereignty.
A recent revelation sheds light on the sinister role of AAC leaders i.e. Shaukat Ali Kashmiri and Nazir Azeer Khan, who have been instrumental in a foreign-funded campaign to disrupt the peace and stability of AJK. Documents and reports confirm that, far from being a voice for the people, AAC leaders have been actively collaborating with Indian operatives to inflame internal dissent within AJK. The objective is clear: to create unrest in the region and divert attention from the ongoing Indian atrocities in Jammu & Kashmir, while simultaneously portraying Pakistan as an oppressor in international forums.
It is clear now that the leadership of the Awami Action Committee has lost its credibility and no longer serves as a representative of the AJK population.
A key piece of evidence supporting this claim comes from a leaked communication involving high-level coordination with Indian operatives. A memo from the Permanent Mission of India in Geneva, dated September 2, 2023, outlines a plan to engage with UKPNP nodes and shape narratives related to the region’s political and social unrest. The document indicates that AAC leaders were specifically tasked with manipulating local grievances, including public dissatisfaction over issues like electricity price hikes, to sow discord in AJK. According to the memo, these actions were being directed with full knowledge of their foreign backers, highlighting the role of external forces in shaping local dissent.
The plot is not only rooted in foreign interference but also in calculated misinformation. The leadership of the AAC has been using issues such as electricity price hikes in AJK as a smokescreen to generate public outrage. These operatives, often disguised as local activists, have been orchestrating rallies and protests under the guise of “consumer rights” and “community welfare,” aiming to manipulate the population of AJK by highlighting grievances that, when examined closely, have little to no substance. The aim is to paint Pakistan as an unjust occupier, all while redirecting focus away from India’s unlawful actions in IIOJK.
The situation has been exacerbated by a covert Indian strategy that involves funding these operatives through front companies, which further shields the true origin of this foreign meddling. Despite claims of financial struggles, the AAC leadership has been promised continued support, which will allow them to continue their divisive activities and expand their influence within AJK.
What is even more alarming is the overt foreign involvement, with AAC leaders receiving direct instructions from Indian officials on how to best fuel division within AJK. The meetings held with Indian special liaison officers in Geneva, aimed at escalating tensions within Pakistan, reveal the extent to which these leaders are willing to betray the people they claim to represent for foreign gains. This calculated manipulation of local issues for political purposes is not just an act of disloyalty; it is an outright betrayal of the very people they purport to serve.
It is clear now that the leadership of the Awami Action Committee has lost its credibility and no longer serves as a representative of the AJK population. Instead, they are pawns in a foreign game designed to weaken Pakistan and divide its people. Their actions must be scrutinized and the international community must recognize the damage they are causing to the region’s stability.
The truth cannot be hidden any longer. The AAC leadership is playing a dangerous game by fuelling unrest and chaos, serving foreign interests at the expense of their own people. It is high time that their foreign-backed campaign is exposed for what it truly is: an effort to destabilize AJK and Pakistan for geopolitical gains, a clear example of how foreign powers are using local proxies to achieve their malicious objectives. The people of AJK deserve better, and it is the responsibility of the governments of AJK and Pakistan to ensure that these traitors are held accountable for their role in creating division and turmoil in the region.
