Proceedings in drug related cases against alleged cocaine dealer Anmol alias Pinky were adjourned in Karachi after police failed to submit the required challan before the court, causing delays in the legal process.

The hearing took place before a Judicial Magistrate (South) in connection with two cases registered in the Garden area of Karachi. The accused, Anmol alias Pinky, was arrested in May during a joint raid conducted by police and a civilian intelligence agency over allegations of narcotics possession and possession of an unlicensed weapon.
During the latest hearing, the investigation officer did not submit the challan, which is a formal charge sheet required to move the case forward. The officer requested additional time to complete and file the report, citing ongoing procedural requirements.
The court accepted the request and directed the investigation officer to present the challan at the next hearing. As a result, the case proceedings were postponed until June 15.
It was also reported that neither the accused nor co-accused were produced before the court via video link during the hearing, further contributing to the procedural delay.
Separately, earlier discussions in a Sindh Assembly Standing Committee on Home Affairs revealed additional details regarding the case and broader narcotics enforcement issues. Officials reportedly stated that Anmol Pinky had been arrested from Lahore, raising questions about jurisdiction and coordination between law enforcement agencies.
During the committee briefing, lawmakers also raised concerns about the wider narcotics trade and enforcement priorities, including inconsistencies in action against different substances. Committee members discussed the need for stronger oversight of drug rehabilitation centers and stricter enforcement of narcotics laws across the province.

The adjournment adds another delay to the ongoing legal proceedings, with the next hearing scheduled for mid-June as authorities work to complete the investigation documentation.
