
ISLAMABAD — Chinese Chargé d’Affaires Shi Yuanqiang has assured Pakistan of full support for its ongoing flood-relief and recovery efforts. His statement came during a visit to the National Emergencies Operation Centre (NEOC) at the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA).
The Chinese delegation, led by Yuanqiang, was briefed by NDMA Chairman Lt Gen Inam Haider Malik. He explained the emergency response operations carried out by NDMA teams across flood-hit regions. These include rescue efforts, aid distribution, and rehabilitation planning for displaced communities.
The envoy praised Pakistan’s disaster response and recognized the NDMA’s timely and effective efforts. He commended their work in addressing the challenges caused by the devastating floods and emphasized China’s willingness to assist further.
Yuanqiang also received an update on long-term rehabilitation strategies, including infrastructure rebuilding and support for affected families. NDMA officials highlighted the importance of international cooperation in tackling climate-induced disasters.
The visit reaffirms China’s continued humanitarian support for Pakistan, especially during times of crisis. Both countries vowed to strengthen collaboration in disaster management and build more resilient response systems for future emergencies.
