Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has expressed heartfelt gratitude to all institutions for maintaining peace and harmony during the holy month of Muharram. She especially praised the efforts of provincial ministers, law enforcement agencies, and religious scholars for ensuring unity, discipline, and respect during the sensitive days.

In her statement, CM Maryam noted that the peaceful atmosphere witnessed this year was unprecedented. For the first time in Punjab’s history, ministers stayed on-ground for ten consecutive days to monitor and assist mourners directly. Their close supervision contributed significantly to the smooth management of Muharram activities across the province.

She also acknowledged the Pakistan Army, Rangers, and police for their critical role in maintaining security. The Chief Minister added that the coordination between administrative bodies and religious leaders helped create an environment of mutual respect, which ensured that the processions and gatherings remained peaceful throughout.

Moreover, Maryam Nawaz highlighted the compassionate services provided during the hot and humid days. She appreciated the efforts made to distribute food, drinking water, and arrange water sprinkling for mourners, which reflected the government’s commitment to public welfare and religious harmony.

She emphasized that the peaceful observance of Muharram will be remembered as a proud chapter in Punjab’s history. CM Maryam also reiterated that Punjab remains a land of peace, unity, and brotherhood, and such efforts will continue to strengthen communal harmony in the province.
