US must stop arming Israel, demands American Jewish group amid Gaza crisis

Published on: June 20, 2025 6:45 PM

In a bold statement, a prominent American Jewish organisation, Jewish Voice for Peace (JVP), has urged President Donald Trump to immediately halt the supply of weapons to Israel. The group warned that continued US support could push the Middle East into a full-scale war.

JVP stated that Israel is committing genocide in Gaza, and Western governments, particularly the United States, are turning a blind eye to the Israeli government’s war crimes against Palestinians. The group held Washington’s military aid responsible for fueling regional violence.

The United States currently provides Israel with $3.8 billion in military assistance each year. However, since the Gaza conflict intensified, this support has grown significantly. According to JVP, this unconditional backing has emboldened Israel to launch attacks on Iran and continue its blockade on Palestinians, worsening the humanitarian crisis.

In a firm declaration, JVP said, “Israel is committing genocide in Gaza and fueling war in the region. America must stop arming it.” The group accused the Zionist-led Israeli government of using Judaism to justify its violent actions against Palestinians.

Meanwhile, Jewish Voice for Peace continues to stand in solidarity with Palestinians and is actively leading awareness campaigns across the US. The organisation maintains that opposing Israel’s actions is not antisemitic, but a moral stance against injustice.

This appeal comes at a time of heightened tensions in the Middle East and growing global concern over human rights violations in Gaza. JVP’s statement adds to the increasing calls for a shift in US foreign policy regarding the Israel-Palestine conflict.
