Is Hania Aamir in Sardaar Ji 3? Diljit Dosanjh faces major backlash

Published on: June 16, 2025 1:43 PM

Popular Indian singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh is under fire after rumors suggested he cast Pakistani actress Hania Aamir in his new movie Sardaar Ji 3. The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) has warned him of strict action. They even threatened to ban him from working in Bollywood. The move follows fresh tensions between India and Pakistan.

The rumors began when fans noticed Hania in photos and videos from the movie set. She was also seen spending time with Diljit during his UK music tour. Although the makers never confirmed her role, fans believed she was part of the film. However, when the teaser dropped on Sunday, Hania was nowhere to be seen.

This reaction comes after a deadly attack in Pahalgam, Indian-Occupied Kashmir, which killed several Indian soldiers. In response, India has tightened its ban on Pakistani artists. Indian media also claimed that other Pakistani stars like Fawad Khan and Mahira Khan were being considered for projects. But all cross-border work has now been put on hold.

FWICE has now sent a formal letter to the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). They asked the board to refuse certification for Sardaar Ji 3 if any Pakistani actors are involved. They reminded the board that allowing the film to release would go against the government’s orders and the public sentiment.

Meanwhile, India has also removed Pakistani songs from Spotify, blocked Pakistani celebrities on social media, and restricted YouTube channels. These steps show the growing divide in cultural exchange between the two countries. As of now, the future of any India-Pakistan entertainment collaboration looks highly uncertain.
