KARACHI – JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has urged the government to support and respect Pakistan’s business community, calling traders the backbone of the country’s economy and key to national progress.
During a visit to the residence of Federal Minister Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh in Karachi, Fazlur Rehman met with leading industrialists including Sultan Chawla, Javed Bilwani, Arif Habib, and others. He emphasized the need for a business-friendly environment to ensure continued growth.
“Karachi is the economic hub of Pakistan,” he said while addressing the gathering. “Our traders and industrialists drive the economy forward. The state must ensure their protection and dignity.”
Fazl also noted that JUI-F has always maintained a principled relationship with the business sector. He stressed that Islam encourages peace and economic stability, which requires strong protections for human rights and economic actors alike.
Senior JUI leaders including Allama Rashid Soomro and Engineer Zia ur Rehman also attended the event, signaling the party’s focused outreach to the business community in Sindh.
The JUI chief’s Karachi visit includes several key meetings, and he is scheduled to address the JUI Sindh Digital Media Convention tomorrow, where he is expected to expand on his economic and political agenda.
