Punjab Culture Day celebrated with vibrant events across province

Punjab Culture Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm across the province, as schools, public spaces and cultural venues came alive with traditional festivities, sports events and colorful displays showcasing the rich heritage of Punjab.

Across Punjab, the day was filled with colors, joy and a strong sense of pride, as communities united to honor their cultural roots and pass them on to future generations.

Lahore Commissioner Zaid Bin Maqsood also issued a message on the occasion, stating that “Punjab’s culture is deeply cherished and recognized worldwide.” He emphasised that cultural celebrations help connect the younger generation with their ancestral traditions and way of life. He added, “The turban is a proud symbol of Punjabi culture, representing self-respect and openness.”

In Multan, Punjab Culture Day was marked in various schools, where students wore traditional Punjabi clothing and set up food stalls. Swings and entertainment activities were arranged for children. CEO Education Dr Safdar stated that the purpose of this celebration is to introduce children to their cultural roots and ensure they take pride in Punjabi traditions.

In Jhang, renowned poet Dr Mohsin Maghiana celebrated in a unique way by decorating his house and clinic with traditional Punjabi elements. He said that the day is a tribute to the legacy of elders and a reminder for the new generation to stay connected to their cultural identity.

In Bahawalnagar, a grand event was held at Haider Stadium, where Deputy Commissioner Zulfiqar Ahmed Bhawan and District Police Officer Kamran Asghar participated as chief guests. The event was inaugurated with an archery display by the DC. A variety of cultural performances, sports competitions, and stalls representing local traditions drew large crowds, as citizens paid tribute to the vibrant Punjabi culture.

In Ali Pur, Government Girls High School hosted a lively Punjab Culture Day celebration with food stalls and cultural displays. A large number of students took part in the event, performing traditional dances and wearing regional attire, highlighting the beauty and diversity of Punjabi heritage.

A vibrant celebration of Punjabi Cultural Day was held at the Faisalabad Arts Council, where the rich heritage of Punjab was showcased through music, dance and traditional attire.

The event featured a captivating performance of the folk love story Heer Ranjha, traditional Punjabi folk songs performed by young girls and energetic bhangra dances by enthusiastic young men. Both men and women wore colorful traditional Punjabi clothing, adding to the festive atmosphere. The audience expressed joy at reconnecting with their cultural roots, calling the event a beautiful reminder of Punjab’s timeless traditions.
