GUJRANWALA: Acting Deputy Commissioner Gujranwala Muhammad Tariq Qureshi said that all government departments should improve their coordination to eradicate dengue larvae while suggesting that parliamentarians should also be involved in anti-dengue planning, so that targets were achieved successfully. He was addressing an anti-dengue meeting held in his office Thursday. Those who attended the meeting included: MPAs Abdul Rauf Mughal, Muhammad Nawaz Chohan, Toufeeq Butt, Qaiser Sandhu; ADCG Dr. Hafsa Rani; all the commissioners; and other officers of government departments. Qureshi urged health officers to accelerate anti-dengue efforts and asked relevant data to be uploaded online. He directed all assistant commissioners to hold meetings on a weekly basis and inspect anti-dengue campaigns personally, so that the menace could be rooted out from the district. Gang rape: Police arrested two accused of involvement in a ‘gang rape’. The arrested were alleged to have raped a 10th class student, with 2 accomplices, on Wednesday.
