Richard Gere’s eldest son looks like he’s right up where he belongs: On the red carpet. Several months ago, Homer James Jigme Gere began accompanying the Officer and a Gentlemanstar to major film festivals after years of staying out of the spotlight. And, most recently, the 24-year-old made another rare appearance, joining his father at the premiere of his latest project, the Paramount+ thriller series The Agency. Richard, 75, and his son wore matching black tuxes for the Nov. 21 occasion. The two attended the event, which took place at New York City’s Museum of Modern Art, alongside Richard’s wife Alejandra Silva. Homer-named after Richard’s father and whose mom is the Pretty Woman star’s ex-wife, Law & Order alum Carey Lowell-had as a child occasionally joined his dad at public events such as basketball and baseball games and the 2014 Giffoni Film Festival for children in Italy. In May, the month Homer graduated from Brown University with a Bachelor of Arts in psychology and visual art, Richard’s eldest son joined his dad at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival. In September, the actor brought Homer along with him to the Venice Film Festival. The entry into the spotlight might not be random, either. A few months earlier, Richard shared that Homer was beginning to follow in his footsteps. “He just started acting too. He has suddenly become interested and seems to enjoy it,” the actor told Vanity Fair Spain in an interview published in March, per Today.com. “He’s been writing and directing little movies, so we have this new thing in common.” The Chicago star is also a dad to his and Alejandra’s sons Alexander, 5, and James, 4, and Albert, 11, his wife’s child from her past marriage to Govind Friedland. Richard recently shared that his family plans to move to her native Spain. “My wife is Spanish and she gave me about seven years here,” the actor, who married the now-41-year-old in 2018, joked on the Nov. 20 episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, so we’re going to spend some years in Madrid.” Richard added, “Our kids are bilingual, so they’re gonna flourish there.”
