Sir: After two years of the crash of an Air Blue airplane in Islamabad, the nation is mourning the crash of Bhoja Air’s plane near Chaklala in Rawalpindi. I am without words to express the sorrow for those who lost their loved ones. Our news channels are so ‘brave’ as to show things like a small red boot, a bangle, photographs of a newlywed couple on board. They want the whole nation to get immune to the situation by showing such things repeatedly. Our media can only play sad songs in the background, show images of crying and shattered faces flashing on the screens in full close-up. All they will do is, invite the grieved families on their morning shows to ‘share’ their loss and grief with the viewers and increase their ratings. Half of the news channels were interested in the story of the newly married couple who got killed in the crash, without taking into consideration the emotional state of the affected family. As for the investigations, I know the blame games would start now, but the end would be the same as of the Air Blue crash.May Allah give courage to all the affected families to come to terms with their loss and keep all of us in His protection. Amen.SIDRA QAISERKarachi
