Sir: A large number of people of Karachi now travel through public buses and the ratio of passengers, male and female, is almost identical. The number of women even exceeds that of men at times. The space, however, for the two genders is not equal in public buses. The women’s compartment is comparatively smaller than men’s, causing difficulties in travelling. Sometimes, men also sit in the women’s compartment, which is wrong. I request the authorities concerned to take this matter seriously and try to modernise public buses.MALIHA HAMID Karachi
