HOUSTON: Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne said on Friday that fellow countryman and Manchester United forward Romelu Lukaku is one of the best in the world and will succeed at Old Trafford. Lukaku, who made his £75 million move to Manchester United this summer, scored the opening goal in his club’s 2-0 victory over arch-rivals City in International Champions Cup on Thursday. Speaking to a post-match press conference, De Bruyne said that Lukaku will score healthy amount of goals next season. “I think he will score 20-25 goals for United a season. Everyone knows what his qualities are and he will do what he has to do,” he said. De Bruyne further stated that to be as young as Lukaku is and cement your place as one of the world’s bests is a remarkable achievement. “If you see his ratio of goals, it’s incredible. He’s one of the best in the world and what is he, 24? You can say that about him at that age,” said Kevin. The Belgian international refrained from comparing his compatriot to Barcelona’s Lionel Messi, however, saying that the 24-year-old has his own style of play. “Obviously he has his way of playing. Don’t compare him to a Messi. He’s a big physical guy and can be awesome,” he remarked. Both United and City are currently in the United States (US) for pre-season tournaments.
