MANCHESTER: Spanish club Real Sociedad has agreed to Manchester United’s (MUFC) £9.8m million demand for Belgian forward Adnan Januzaj on Tuesday. The 22-year-old is expected to travel to San Sebastian on Wednesday to complete the transfer as he looks to revive his career after a promising beginning four years ago. The once highly rated forward saw an uncharacteristic downfall at the Manchester club subsequent to his initial couple of seasons at Old Trafford, spending next two seasons out on loan at German club Borussia Dortmund and English club Sunderland FC, managing just one goal in 40 appearances. Former Dortmund coach Thomas Tuchel, who managed Januzaj during the player’s loan stint in Germany, blamed his careless attitude for his downfall. “It is a pity he did not show the desire and attitude you need to progress at his age.” he said. Sociedad are expected to announce the signing after arrival of the young forward in Spain, however, if MUFC has included a buy-back option in the deal still remains uncertain. Januzaj joined the red devils from Belgian champions Anderlecht in 2011 for their youth team, while it only took a couple of years for him to make his first team debut. He was also part of Belgium’s 2014 FIFA World Cup. Real Sociedad managed sixth position in Spanish league last season and will feature in next year’s Europa League.
