KARACHI. A traffic police official was shot dead in North Nazimabad area of the metropolis on Sunday evening. Police officials said armed men, riding a motorcycle, opened fire on traffic police Sub-Inspector Muhammad Arshad, killing him on the spot. DSP Naeem Khan said the deceased was on duty near Five Star Chowrangi when armed motorcyclists targeted him. The body was taken to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for an autopsy. Earlier, two suspects were killed during an encounter with police in the Defence Housing Authority on Saturday night. Police officials also claimed to have recovered weapons, mobile phones and a snatched motorcycle from them.
