KARACHI: Sindh Information Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah said on Thursday that the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) had always stood for democracy. He was speaking during a visit to the Karachi Press Club. “The PPP has done the utmost for people. Our first priority is to improve transparency and develop the system. We have formed a complaint cell to sort out things as early as possible,” he said. The minister said that the importance of the Karachi Press Club could not be denied. “Advertisements will now be given to newspapers and media houses according to their performance and viewership. We will implement this policy,” he said. Shah said that whenever the PPP was not in power in the centre, the province had to face a shortage of water. “This happens because the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz lacks any water conservation strategy,” the minister said. To a question about corruption, he said that black sheep would be dealt with iron hands. “A 100 percent improvement cannot be brought about overnight. For this, give us some time. We are trying to implement the vision of Bilawal Bhutto Zardari. As far as ongoing projects are concerned, it is a wrong perception that they are not being completed according to schedule. They will be ready according to the given deadline.
