SUKKUR: All Pakistan Clerk Association (APCA) Sukkur announced to initiate a province wide protest over Eid for their demands of increase wages, scale up-gradation and insurance policy from Sindh Government. They announced that the protest would continue till the government does not fulfill their demands. They urged Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah and Health Minister to fulfill the promises they made with the clerks. APCA Sindh Chairman Maqbool Ahmed Mahar, Shamshad Dayo, Abdul Kareem Bugti and other addressed the meeting about the problems of clerk community. They stated that doctors, teachers and officers of each department had been awarded with their due promotion while clerks were denied their rights for the last 30 years. They further stated that despite 30 posts of 17 grades office superintendents are vacant all over the province for some time, the senior clerks were not being upgraded above the post of office superintendents which they termed as a sheer injustice with the clerical community. APCA’s officials will completely observe the strike by locking each department and it will continue till their demands were fulfilled. Published in Daily Times, June 25th, 2017.
