KARACHI: Ideas evolve from architecture and architecture evolves from ideas, said Professor Mehrdad Hadighi at an International Design Conference held at Indus Valley School of Art and Architecture (IVS) in collaboration with Kennesaw State University (KSU), Georgia, USA on Monday. The conference is sponsored by the US State Department under the Higher Education Academic Exchange Partners Program between IVS and KSU that wrapping many presentations and exhibitions will be concluded on February 23. During his speech, Mehrdad said that the purpose to organize such conference is to call cross-cultural communities of like-minded people and enthusiasts who share the common goal of practicing, learning, teaching and shaping the future of design and architecture. He said theory and philosophy can never be ignored while performing arts. “Design and Technology if work together can create artifacts”, he added. He said ideation to materialization with the help of competition has brought great changes in the field of architecture and design. The conference critically examined the theme of this International Conference including historical back ground of Design Evolution (Education and Practice) in architecture, communication and advertising, new media, film, graphic design, illustration, interior design, textile and fashion design, and other related fields in South Asian and Western Cultural and cross cultural contexts. The conference was concluded with the Sufi devotional music Qawwali performed by a young-choir.
