KARACHI: The two-month long summer vacations for the schools and colleges by the Sindh government ended on Monday and the educational institutes will reopen across province today (Tuesday). “We expect that educational institutes will resume from Tuesday, however, monsoon rains could create problems for the students, teachers and also for the parents,” said Sharaf uz Zaman, Chairman of Private Schools Management Association . In Karachi at many places near to school, rainwater is accumulating, due to which many schools will not be able to start working from Tuesday. Many parents are confused about the actual status of the opening of the schools with stranded water around the building. Zaman added that that the rainwater is already standing in front of schools and authorities have failed to clear these areas, despite making tall claims. He demanded that provincial government and Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC)’s officials must work immediately and make arrangement to drain out the rainwater, so that students may not face difficulties while commuting to schools. “As per schedule, all government schools will be fully functional after the end of summer holidays and there is no reason for not reopening the schools and colleges as well”, said Hamid Karim, Additional Director Schools Karachi, added that parents and teachers should ensure the attendance in schools for the better future of children.
