LAHORE: At least four people were killed as dumper working on Orange Line Metro Train project collided with motorcycle and rickshaw in Daroghawala. The injured were immediately shifted to the Services Hospital for further medical assistance where the doctors said that one of the wounded persons was in critical condition. The dumper’s driver fled the scene after the mishap. However, police personnel have launched an investigation into the matter to nab the culprit. The deceased have been identified as 40-year-old Amjad, 10-year-old Nauman and 28-year-old passerby. Deadly accidents are common on roads across Pakistan due to poor infrastructure and rampant disregard of traffic laws. Over 9,000 road accidents are reported to the police every year, killing on average around 5,000 people, according to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics.
