LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman’s Advisor Dr Yasmin Rashid has demanded the Nawaz government to arrest Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain on treason charges for spreading anti-Pakistan messages from his London office. Talking to party workers’ delegations on Tuesday, Dr Yasmin said that the latest speech of Altaf Hussain proved him a state enemy, as he was speaking the language of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Dr Yasmin said that Altaf Hussain should be condemned for his anti-Pakistan speech, adding that PTI always warned the nation against Altaf Hussain. She said that the MQM chief was a hurdle in establishment of peace in Pakistan, urging the PML-N government to make contacts with British authorities and demand Altaf’s extradition to Pakistan under treason charges. Meanwhile, former Punjab governor and PTI leader Chaudhry Sarwar condemned elements speaking against Pakistan as well as the MQM’s attack on media houses, terming them as totally unacceptable. He urged the government to provide protection to media personnel who were facing threats and had approached the government. Sarwar said enemies of Pakistan do not have any right to do politics in the country, adding that the entire nation was united behind its armed forces and Rangers to restore peace in the country, especially in Karachi. He urged the forces to launch a grand operation against enemies of the state and put nefarious elements behind bars. He said that Pakistan was a free and sovereign country and no one could be allowed to work and speak against it. “There is no room for anti-state people in Pakistan,” he stressed, adding that the nation would give a befitting response to such individuals. PTI would go to any length for sovereignty, integrity and protection of Pakistan, he concluded.
