LAHORE: Post Graduate Medical Institute Principal Prof Ghiyasun Nabi Tayyab has said that an inter-faith dialogue is necessary for creating harmony among youth and other segments so as to promote mutual understanding in the society. He expressed these views while addressing a prize distribution ceremony held in connection with All Pakistan Interdisciplinary Parliamentary Debate at the Ameerud Din Medical College (AMC) on Sunday. Prof Ghiyasun Nabi Tayyab also distributed prizes among position holders of the competition, which continued for five days. The Government College University (GCU) and the Forman Christian College University teams won first and second positions in Urdu debates, respectively, while the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) and SISA remained first and second in English declamation, respectively. In his address, Prof Ghiyasun Nabi Tayyab said that the Ameerud Din Medical College had been given authority among only few other institutions to host an interdisciplinary declamation. He said that AMC had rendered a great contribution towards promoting extra-curricular activities among students to make them useful citizens of the country. “Pakistan has a bright future ahead and those spreading disappointment are pessimist. Our youth hold great talent and potential to cater to the needs of 21st century. He congratulated the heads and teachers of position holders.
