LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Friday, while visiting the house of Naik Imtiaz Ahmad who was martyred in the unprovoked firing of Indian forces on Line of Control, said Pakistan was passing through a time when it was important to promote harmony instead of chaos and anarchy. He met the parents and the family of Naik Imtiaz Ahmad and sympathised with them. The chief minister also went to the local graveyard in Hajveri Town, Sargodha Road, and laid a wreath on the grave of the martyred officer and offered Fateha. On the occasion, he announced to upgrade the local school and name it after martyred Imtiaz Ahmad. Paying tributes to courage and bravery of Naik Imtiaz Ahmad, Shahbaz said that Ahmad has set a noble example by sacrificing his life in the defence of the country and the entire nation was proud of him. He said that martyred Naik Imtiaz Ahmad and martyred Hawaldar Juma Khan were heroes of Pakistani nation, adding that no one dare cast an evil eye on Pakistan in the presence of such brave sons. He said that Naik Imtiaz Ahmad was an asset and pride of Pakistan Army as well as the nation, adding that his supreme sacrifice would not go to waste and Kashmiris would get their freedom. Shahbaz said that he salutes the courage of the elderly parents of Naik Imtiaz Ahmad, adding that Pakistani nation as well as the Punjab government was with the family of Naik Imtiaz Ahmad and he would do everything possible for the daughters of the martyred soldier. Talking to media, the chief minister said that Pakistan was passing through a critical phase and there was a need for national unity and solidarity, adding that those promoting confusion and conflict in the in the prevailing circumstances were not doing justice with the blood of the martyrs.
