ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court Divisional Bench headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan Anwar ZaheerJamali heard the case regarding census. According to details, division bench of honourable judges CJP Justice Anwar ZaheerJamali and Justice QaziFaez Isa were hearing the suomotu case. Attorney General of Pakistan AshtarAusaf appeared from the federal government side and argued before the honourable judges that census is a sensitive matter for government and it cannot be held without army intervention. After hearing the argument of the attorney general the honourable judges expressed anger by saying that if army has to perform census then where is government’s writ. The Supreme Court also stated that if this situation prevails and census is not conducted, it will not be possible to hold election of 2018. Attorney General pleaded before the court for granting him time for consultation with government officials in this case. After hearing the case the honourable judges of the Supreme Court adjourned the case hearing till last week of September.
