LAHORE: A Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) member filed a petition in the Lahore High Court LHC, seeking orders to stop the government from arresting party leaders ahead of the Raiwand March on September 30, ARY News reported. The petition was filed by Waleed Iqbal who claimed that PTI was trying to eliminate corruption from the country and was going to lead a long-march for the purpose in Lahore on September 30. PTI first demanded the government for a fair probe into the Panama leaks – which fell on deaf ears. So now the party was heading towards protest. The petitioner said the government was threatening PTI leaders against participating in the march and some party workers have also been arrested. He urged the court to bar the government from misusing its powers against the people’s democratic rights. Iqbal also demanded the court to take action against PML-N leaders including Abid Sher Ali and Zaeem Qadri. The LHC referred the case to full bench headed by Justice Shahid Hameed Dar.
