ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Police have operationalised a police communication system having the complete data of daily registered crime cases, record of criminals from the day of their arrest and release and departmental history, of all police officials and employees. The system — Islamabad Capital Territory Police Communication System (ICTPOLCOM) — had been completed in only 47 days as the Inspector General of Police, Tariq Masood Yasin, assigned the task to develop this integrated system soon after assuming charge as the IGP. The complete data of police stations with effect from January 1, 2016 had been inserted in this system while the further record was being updated, the police source said here on Tuesday. He said this was a modern system in the policing history of Pakistan and it would have complete data of daily registered crime cases, record of criminals from the day of their arrest and release and departmental history of all police officials and employees. On daily basis, the data of each police station is being incorporated while the IGP Islamabad, the DIG, the SSP (Operations), the Zonal SPs, the SDPOs, the SHOs and the police operators can access this data round the clock even on their smart phones, laptops and personal computers. This system has complete security features and anyone trying to access it wrongly would be traced through generation of a computerised message. The IT section has been also directed to train the officers not using this system and acquaint them very well about this modern technique, the police source said.
