WAH: The University of Wah, at its 5th convocation, conferred degrees on 1,101 in the disciplines of basic sciences, computer sciences, management sciences and social sciences and humanities. 38 high achievers were also awarded gold medals by Punjab Governor Malik Rafiq Rajwana. Speaking on the occasion, the Punjab governor said, “Education gives awareness but knowledge benefits mankind. Our preference should be focused on quality education.” He paid rich tribute to soldiers and personnel of law enforcement agencies who had rendered countless sacrifices for the country. “We are proud of their sacrifices which will be remembered forever,” he added. He congratulated the graduating students in general and the award winners in particular. Earlier, in his opening address, University of Wah Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Khaliqur Rehman Shad apprised the audience of the salient achievements of the university since its inception. The vice chancellor also congratulated the students and advised them to participate in the progress and development of the country. He extended his felicitations to the successful graduates and wished them good luck. A large number of students and their parents attended the ceremony.
