While stopping the illegal collection of parking fees by Karachi Development Authority (KDA), the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) is all set to auction at least 38 ‘parking sites’ aimed at containing the financial constraints being faced by the corporation, Daily Times has learnt.
In this connection, the Senior Director charged for parking at KMC has run an advertisement in the local dailies inviting tenders from contractors for 38 parking sites that fall under the administrative jurisdiction of the city administration.
The time period for the auction will be for four months i.e. March 1, 2017 to June 30, 2017. The auction will be held on February 20, 2017 at 11:30am on the lawns of the KMC Building, Jinnah Ground, Karachi.
The sites that would be put on for auction are Fariya Mobile and Raza Mobile, Rashid Minhas Road Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Humairah Square, Nipa Chowrangi, Kaybees and Mohammad Ali Society, Chaseup Nipa Chowrangi, Hill Park, Imtiaz Store Bahadurabad, KDA Market Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Naheed & Chase Super Store Shaheed-e-Millat Road, Patel Hospital Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Shahra-e-Faisal both sides, Shazz Super Market, Hasan Medical Center, Faran Club, Sindhi Muslim Roundabout, Tariq Road, Bahadurabad, Sindbad, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Around Civic Center, Hyderi Market, Dolmen Mall, North Nazimabad, S M Toufeeq Road Liquatabad Super Market to Liquatabad No 10, Saifee Hospital and Chaseup, Shershah Suri Road, North Nazimabad, Anarkali Water Pump to Karachi Institute of Heart Diseases FB Area, Bin Hashim Market FB Area, Fattah Bagh Block F North Nazimabad, UP Mobile Market, North Karachi,

According to sources, the contractors will be allowed to charge Rs 20 for car, hi-roof, rickshaw, Rs 5 for motorcycle, Rs 50 for Mazda Coach and Rs 100 for buses and trucks.
