KARACHI – Aftab Hussain, a coordinator of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Dr Farooq Sattar, was laid to rest here, a private TV channel reported. According to details, Hussain’s funeral was attended by Sattar, Amir Khan and Waseem Akhtar and other activists of the Muttahida. Earlier today, Hussain was pronounced dead by the hospital staff, a day after he was produced in a court by the Rangers. Speaking to journalists, Sindh Assembly member Khawaja Izharul Hassan pointed out Hussain’s death under custody, demanding a medical board be constituted to thoroughly investigate the death of the party worker. The MQM, who was taken into custody from Federal B Area of Karachi on Sunday, was shifted to the Jinnah Hospital at around 8am where doctors pronounced him dead after 20 minutes. He was detained by the law enforcers during a raid near MQM’s Nine Zero headquarters on Sunday evening. He was also presented before a judge of an anti-terrorism court along with seven other suspects.
