ERUM KHAN Designer Erum Khan, who in a short span of time has created a humongous market for herself in couture mainly, presented a beautiful formal wear, luxury prêt and bridal collection during Fashion Pakistan Week Winter Festive 2017 Day 1. Titled Bridal Odyssey, as much as the collection stood out for us, there was one particular outfit that spoke volumes of the designer’s fashion acumen and fine craft. It was a silver off-shoulder gown with matching stilettos and minimal accessories. “It is a net and organza gown, with pearls, dabka and Swarovski work. It has a halter-neck with a long back tail. It’s all made with net,” Erum Khan said, while talking exclusively to Daily Times. We also like the makeup and the hair with a stylish up do and a statement lip colour with smoky eyes. The stunning embroidery wowed us completely. Truly an outfit that makes a woman stand out! SANAM CHAUDHRI Karachi-based designer Sanam Chaudhri presented her stunning Pandora collection on Day 2, opening the show and wowing us with each and every outfit, that were wearable, trendy and sophisticated. There was a royal blue dress that featured a Patiala shalwar, a short blue and silver choli with a loose gown on top that had gold and silver embroidery and embellishments. The highlight was the red and gold Banarasi collar. The look was completed by peep toe stiletto heels and minimal accessories. We also loved the red lipstick to go with the outfit’s look. “This is a ‘Count’ jacket, made in cobalt blue self jamawar silk, hand-embroidered with crystals and sequins. The blouse is encrusted with pencil crystals. Paired with an overlap draped trouser, the outfit is made to order,” Sanam Chaudhri said, also while talking exclusively to Daily Times. SANA SAFINAZ The esteemed designer duo had the audience spellbound with their Roses & Rue collection showcase on the concluding day as their Grand Finale exhibit. Each and every outfit held its own and had the critics raving about it for days. However, there was one outfit that caught our eye and stayed with us. It was a peach coloured gown with intricate embellishments and a white flair. The boat-shape neck added to the gown’s sophistication and appeal. The look was completed with heavy chandelier earrings. “We have used net and chiffon fabric, dyed in the ombre fashion and embellished with Swarovski crystals as well as gold thread. The gown is super imposed with 3D organza flowers. It is made to order from the Sana Safinaz boutiques,” Safinaz Muneer informed us. Published in Daily Times, September 17th 2017.
