Frieha Altaf was presented with an award in recognition of her exceptional contribution to the empowerment of Pakistani women by the Sindh Governor Muhammad Zubair, at the International Women’s Day Celebration initiated by Women Chamber of Commerce & Industry’s (WCCI) Farida Qureshi, held at the Governor House in Karachi. Frieha Altaf is an icon. Her commitment and hard work have been lauded globally, and her portrayal of the positive image of Pakistan is worth appreciating. She is the first person who brought the red-carpet trend to Pakistan, which completely changed the game of the local fashion industry. Altaf was honoured for all the work she has done to empower other women in her field, a feat she has accomplished tirelessly. The International Women’s Day celebration is an annual function spearheaded by the WCCI to highlight the achievements of women in Pakistan. Altaf was one of the many successful women who were awarded on Women’s Day; Maheen Khan, Nabila Maqsood, Sultana Siddiqui, Shaista Effendi to name a few more. It is an absolute proud moment for all Pakistanis and we wish all the honourable ladies immense success in the years to come. Altaf is the owner, CEO and creative director of Catwalk Event Management & Productions. In the past 30 years, she has executed and delivered over 3,000 events ranging from intimate to enormous; Catwalk is the premier of several companies that Altaf owns and runs, the others being Catalyst Public Relations which handles PR and networking and Cats which is model and celebrity management. WCCI is a panel of individuals who believe in the potential of women entrepreneurs in Pakistan. The chamber can also be looked upon as an advocacy group for dealing with issues of economic empowerment of women.
