Sir: I wish to direct the attention of the concerned authorities to Gorakh, a hill station situated in Kirthar range at a height of 6 thousand feet above the sea level. Had the previous governments been serious in their commitment to developing the country, they would have long implemented reforms that tapped on this city’s potential in attracting tourists–both local and foreign. Its resorts cold weather, natural scenery appeal to hundreds even in this crude condition. The last six days have seen its residents protesting against rampant corruption that prevails in Gorakh. The government should make sure that the local budget is spent in a manner that is beneficial to tourism as well as its residents. JAVED ALI
