Sir: Article 62 and 63 are two extremely important provisions in the constitutional scheme of things. They keep check on the issues regarding the moral values. These are applied to disqualify the holders of Public Office, if they do not remain honest and truthful. Ex-PM Sharif has started a new controversy over them. He is the first casualty of the Article 62-F1. His lamentations, moaning and whaling has not stopped since the Verdict in Panama Case was announced. He thinks that by introducing an amendment to the constitution these can be repealed. I think it would be a great folly to repeal the constitution. We need to strictly follow them. Election process should be made more transparent and fair. Nawaz Sharif wanted to use these articles against his political opponents. None of the political party has ever conspired against him otherwise he would not have completed the four years in power. President Mamnoon Hussain has given a sound piece of advice to the political leaders to act in a wise and moderate fashion. He asked them to stop complaining and making excuses. I think we must keep these provisions intact to keep the public office holders in line. Article 62 7 63 deal with the regulation of morality. If we tinker with the Constitution because we will never be able to develop a consensus over the constitution. PML(N) wants to bring amendment to save the corruption of Sharif family. It would be better if he gets the patent on Corruption registered. The claim of bringing the revolution is false and ridiculous. We cannot expect it from Mian brothers. Defending the country is the best way to celebrate the birthday of the nation. Challenges to the country should be met with wisdom and sobriety. Protection and implementation of the constitution should be our main objective. Nations become stronger through adversity. We should learn some lessons more others experiences.
