PESHAWAR: Pakistan Tehrek-e-Insaf (PTI) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s minority wing on Tuesday demanded Chief Minister Pervaiz Khattak to immediately confirm the appointment of minority advisor to CM, saying the minority wing’s office bearers and local representatives would be compelled to step down from their positions after Eid-ul-Fitr. Addressing a press conference at Peshawar Press Club PTI minority wing leader Naveed Javed Payara said that due to legal complexities in Election Commission, the notification regarding the vacant seat of slain Soran Singh in KP assembly had become victim to delaying tactics. “Some elements are trying to fill vacant seats of minority advisor by ignoring the minority community, therefore government should keep an eye on such elements and appoint the advisor from minority community” he said, adding that the Chief Minister had announced a special package for the Soran Singh family members, but the amount was yet to be paid. He therefore further demanded the government to take solid steps for release of the package to the late minority advisor’s orphans. “Similarly, the KP government had announced Rs 200 million financial aid for the affectees of Kohati Church bomb blast but it had not been paid. This had created stress among the Christian community. Mr Javed also demanded of the government to establish a special minority force as the Supreme Court of Pakistan (SCP) had already given its verdict in favour of minority community. He alleged that Rs300 million minority funds were transferred to Dar-ul-Ulom Haqania, therefore government should withdraw the decision in this regard. He added that Rs3 million which had been announced for Tarnab Form Church by KP government should immediately be paid too.
