KHYBER AGENCY: The tribal youths conducted peace walk from Landi Kotal to Peshawar on Saturday, aimed to display that peace has been restore in Khyber Agency. A group of four tribal youths headed by civil society member and journalist, Rahat Shinwari initiated their journey on foot from the tomb of renowned Pashto poet and Pashto Bab-e-Ghazal, Amir Hamza Khan Shinwari. Speaking on the occasion Rahat Shinwari said that the aim of walk is to exhibit to the world soft image of the tribal belt beside to encourage tourists to visit the historical sites in the Khyber as peace has restored and routine life has returned there. He further said that the valley of Khyber has remained a busy route from the trading caravans between the central Asia and pre-independence India and in lack of transportation facilities our forefathers used to travel by foot between Landi Kotal and Peshawar, therefore he added we want to refresh the footprints of our elders by carrying out walk via Khyber Pass. Rahat Shinwari added that they would have to travel for 44 miles on foot and the journey would complete in nine hours, in Peshawar.
