PESHAWAR: The students of the Federally Administrated Tribal Areas (FATA) demanded a reforms and awareness campaign on the efficiency of Reforms for People in FATA, on Thursday, at the Peshawar Press Club. The FATA Students Organisation (FSO) demanded of the federal government to immediately implement FATA reforms and announce the launching of an awareness campaign to educate the people about the efficiency of reforms. Addressing a news conference at Peshawar press club, FSO president Shaukat Aziz said FATA reforms shouldn’t to be dropped from the federal cabinet’s agenda. He asked Imran Khan to launch a campaign for the rights of people living in FATA as he was the only hope for the people of Pakistan. “We request Imran Khan and other political leaders to support our demands,” Shaukat Aziz said. He said that the federal government was not sincere to the people of FATA and deliberately wanted to keep them backward as the development in FATA would be possible only if the FCR was abolished and reforms were ushered for the people of FATA. While talking about elective representatives, the tribal students said that when the government was not ready to hear the FATA MNAs’ voice in the National Assembly then the FATA parliamentarians came out on the roads. The tribal students warned of staging a protest sit-in in front of the governor’s house if their demands were not met. PTI leader: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Reforms Committee Convener and founding member of the party, Zafarullah Khattak, threatened of a protest demonstration on the arrival of Imran Khan for a joining party ceremony by the noted political figure on 25th February. The Reforms Committee struggling in the party for an intra party election has appealed to the party leaders for joining the committee instead of quitting the party. According to the source a leader of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) would formally join PTI where Imran Khan will also attend the function. Zafarullah Khattak, said that the protest for due rights was the constitutional right of every worker and the committee had been found with the aim of holding intra party election in the province and stop the process of selection. He was speaking to the representatives of the committee of the PK-One that all those who were joining other political parties should join the committee and reform the party instead of leaving it for good. “After a successful meeting in Mansehra and Peshawar the message of the committee would spread to all the region and the workers would be united for their due rights,” he maintained. Convener Zafarullah demanded from the party Chairman Imran Khan to announce the date for the intra party election and to get the party rid from turncoat traitors. The intra party election which has been delayed time and again by the core committee of PTI has caused a rift among the workers and could cause more shifting of allegiances in the party he added. Senior leader Arbab Shah Nawaz, the most vocal among the committee for reforms in the party said on the occasion that the Central Executive Committee of the party had always given space to non devoted representatives and had ignored ideological leaders and die hard workers. Head of the PK-One of the committee Advocate Tariq Ehsan, claimed that sooner or later the hard work of the workers would be honored by the central leadership of the party. The leaders said that a movement across the province would be launched to muster up the worker force of the party for intra party election. The representatives committed to present a protest on the arrival of Imran would have a positive impact on the party.
