RAWALPINDI: A decision has been taken to purchase 9894 kanals of land for the construction of Rawalpindi Ring Road. According to media reports, the project will be completed within two years and the loan will be provided by the Asian Bank. A meeting, headed by the Commissioner Rawalpindi, Azmat Mehmood, was held in Rawalpindi to take an overview of the project. The Commissioner said that 9894 kanals of property would be purchased for this development project and designing of the route will be completed as per the recommendations given by the Asian Development Bank. He underlined that the project would be helpful to ensure the smooth flow of traffic in Rawalpindi city and its adjoining areas. The representatives of the Development Bank said that the Asian Development Bank was ready to give a loan for the construction of Rawalpindi Ring Road, for the purchase of land and for meeting other expenditures. They said bank is also cooperating in the designing of Ring Road stressing that the designing be completed as soon as possible so that funds could be provided.
