GILGIT: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) won four seats of the Gilgit Baltistan (GB) Council. The polling on six seats of the council was held at Gilgit Baltistan Legislative Assembly on Monday with ruling party grabbing four seats out of six. A candidate of Islami Tehreek and an independent was elected on two seats. According to unofficial results, the successful candidates include Arman Shah, Sultan Ali Khan, Muhammad Ashraf Sada and Wazir Akhlaq Hussain of the PML-N, Syed Muhammad Abbas Rizvi of Islami Tehreek and Said Afzal as an independent candidate. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Monday congratulated the elected members of Gilgit Baltistan (GB) Council. In his message, the prime minister expressed the hope that the elected members of PML-N would devote their capabilities and energies for the prosperity and progress of the people of Gilgit Baltistan. Through their services, they would be setting a precedent; a press release of the PM Office Media Wing quoted the prime minister. The prime minister also felicitated Gilgit Baltistan Chief Minister Hafeezur Rehman on the success of PML-N candidates.
