RAWALPINDI: MPA Jehangir Khanzada son of former Punjab Home Minister Late Shuja Khanzada (shaheed) on Thursday said that police is playing a commendable role for combating and eliminating terrorism from the country. The security forces including Army, Rangers and Police have given great sacrifices in the war against terrorism. He said this while addressing the passing out parade of Probationer ASI’s who completed their training at Police College Sihala. Punjab Police Inspector General (IG) Muhstaq Ahmed Sukhaira, commandant Police College Sihala, DIG Suhail Habib Tajik, Punjab Police AIG (Training) Usman Khattak, Deputy Commandant of the College SSP Ali Mohsin, Provincial Parliamentary Secretary for Youth Affairs Ch Sarfraz Afzal, former MNA Shakeel Awan, PML-N leader Dr Jamal Nasir, former IG M R Zia, former RPO Rawalpindi, Addl. IG Rao Muhammad Iqbal, UN representatives and trainers, foreign experts, prominent citizens from society and relatives of police officers were present on the occasion. MPA Jehangir Khanzada said that Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif after assuming the office adopted the policy of merit for induction in government departments particularly in police and 631 probationers who are passing out today after completing their training had been inducted through Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) and most of them are highly qualified. He congratulated the police officers and said that their performance in the field should be of high mark and a sign of terror for criminals and terrorists while symbol of protection and security for the law-abiding citizens. He further said that 100 million population of Punjab looks towards the police department for providing them justice and police officers especially those completing training should discharge their duties honestly with fear of God and for providing justice to the aggrieved. He remarked that training has vital significance for police as trained police force can meet the challenges of time especially for combating and controlling terrorism and heinous crimes. Punjab IG Muhstaq Ahmed Sukhaira while addressing the parade said that the sacrifices given by the police officers and jawans from security forces are considered as a beacon light for them. He said that Sihala College has been playing a pivotal role for training of police officers of Punjab, other provinces and from abroad. Terrorism can only be eliminated with sincerity, honesty, spirit of faith and high standard of training, he added.
